One of the rarest BMWs ever made, and certainly the rarest production M convertible, the S54 powered M roadster - often referred to as a Z3M Roadster - is an incredible car. The first edition of the Z Roadster used the earlier generation S50 engine from the E36 M3. In 2001 however they installed the brand new S54 3.2 lifted from the newly launched E46 M3 into the last run - with miraculous results. On paper, the difference is a mere 4bhp. In the real world it feels like at least 10 times that. The free revving characteristics remained, but with the power instantly available, throughout the range. Smoother, torquier, more responsive. With its wide rear arches, and aggressive stance, the Z Roadster finally had the engine to match the design. Although kitted out with a clever M limited slip differential, BMW judged it too excitable to be released without traction control - but it can of course be turned off. The sports seats and M cabin trim finish off the look, and leave you begging to drive it. You won't be disappointed. Unfortunately for the world, only 73 of these amazing little two seaters were produced. This particular model is in the perfect colour combination of Metallic Sapphire Black contrasted with the two tone red/black leather interior. One of only 9 cars built with this combination. There probably isn't another Z Roadster like this. I have been the registered keeper of this stunning car since 2018 and drove down to Spain and kept the car there until returning earlier this year. BMW dealer serviced up until 40000 miles and then independently serviced. With only 52000 miles, just 3 previous owners and offered in virtually original condition this really is a one off opportunity to own what must be one of the rarest cars of this era. Wheels just refurbished as laquer was peeling, at the same time the bodywork was ceramic coated and two new rear tyres fitted.
