Much-loved 2003 car, sad to see it go
This car has been brilliant to me. I bought it in 2011 with 92,000 miles on the clock, and it has never let me down. It has always passed its MOT with minimal advisories, and whenever it needed work, such as brake discs, I had it done straight away.
In recent years it has been my long-distance companion, making regular trips from the South to the Midlands. It's great on the motorway and accelerates well in 6th gear without needing to drop down. Super economical £20 a month road tax and cheap to insure. Half a tank of fuel covers 350 miles.
It's an older car, so I want to be upfront about its condition:
It is Category N, following a small bump in first gear in 2019 which left a dent on the drivers wing/corner of the bonnet.
The central locking doesn't work.
There are no alarms for seat belts or lights left on, which I've come to see as a nice break from "too much technology"
There are a few scuffs on the alloys, which were there when I bought it.
On the plus side, there is minimal rust and the interior is clean and tidy.
As you'd expect at this age, there is some normal wear and tear. Even so, it has plenty of miles left in it, and I'd love it to go to someone who will appreciate it as much as I have. Good cars like this one are rare
