Description
STARTS, RUNS, AND DRIVES SMOOTHLY. FULLY DRIVEABLE PROJECT.
Offering our 2011 facelift Freelander 2 at a heavily discounted price due to a recent garage inspection mapping out required mechanical maintenance.
The car drives remarkably well, pulls cleanly through the gears, and benefits from a brand-new clutch and dual-mass flywheel fitted in 2021.
The car has been fully diagnosed with a digital PDF report showing the following engine issues that need addressing:
Engine: A diagnosed leak from the oil turbo feed pipe (causes a whistle and lag on acceleration) and a blown rocker cover gasket (causes a temporary oil smell through the cabin vents when stationary). There is also a leak from the rear crank seal.
Accessory System: The auxiliary alternator pulley is noisy/seizing on pull-away and needs a standard pulley/belt replacement (charges perfectly, steering functions fine).
Standard Wear Items: Front tyres are low. Brakes are fully functional but pads/discs are wearing thin. Bonnet gas struts need replacing (£15 part).
Why buy this car?
Healthy 2011 Freelander 2s routinely fetch £2,800-£3,500+ on the used market. If you are a DIY mechanic, hobbyist, or have access to cheap trade labour, you can fix these parts yourself for under £150 in components and instantly own a highly reliable, high-value SUV.
The car is fully driveable and can be driven home safely (just keep an eye on the oil level), though a trailer is recommended if you are traveling a massive distance.
