My wife's high mileage but well maintained Ibiza that she's recently replaced with a Ford Puma. Cosmetically a bit rough round the edges but mechanically still very good and lots of good points. Very honest car with nearly full service history and plenty of life still left in it. She bought it in Feb 2023 at about 140000 miles from someone who'd mainly used it for long distance commuting, and her own commute is 50 miles a day on mostly straight open roads, so it's mainly been easy mileage rather than constant stop start urban driving. It's the really economical 1.6 litre diesel (65mpg according to Parkers!) with just £35 car tax each year. Good points... Well maintained. MOTed 3/7/26 and only done 300miles since (SORNed shortly after when she bought the new car), expires 23/7/27 so over 10 months left. Only advisory was for nearside front lower suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement. Engine, gearbox and clutch all fine. Brakes and tyres excellent. Serviced 7500 miles ago. 4 x decent Bridgestone all weather tyres fitted only 7000 miles ago. Genuinely makes the car feel more secure in wet and mucky weather. New brakes all round (discs and pads, both front and rear, plus OSF caliper) under 6000 miles ago. New steering rack 2500 miles ago after I hit a hidden pothole whilst I was driving and it knocked out the power steering pump which is integrated into the rack. Thankfully no damage to the new tyre! Bad points... Minor coolant leak. Hit a pheasant last winter which came through the lower front grille (since replaced) and presumably has slightly damaged the radiator, but it really only leaks a little and we've just been keeping an eye on it and occasionally topping it up a little. Air conditioning hasn't worked for years, typical old car! Never investigated. Few small scuffs and scrapes as you'd expect on a 12 year old car with this mileage. Mostly before her ownership. Seats have water stains and some cigarette burns, all from before her ownership. Boot catch opens and closes fine but the SEAT logo is a bit sticky and doesn't always come back down. Really minor issue! Plastic around aux input for stereo is damaged - never tried it so may still work. Overall it's a good well used car that should be great for someone who doesn't care what it looks like but will appreciate that it's great mechanically, not a dodgy wreck.
