Very reluctant sale of our lovely 2013 Smart Passion convertible. Only selling because our first grandchild is on its way and we need to go back to a four seater car with Isofix points for a child's seat. We have owned the car since May 2021. It was a private sale from its one previous keeper in Christchurch. They had used it for towing behind their motorhome but decided to give up motorhoming. It had about 33k miles and been well serviced. We have had it serviced each year at 4-Smart near Cheltenham and it has wanted for nothing. The recent MOT advised the front tyres were becoming worn so we have had new ones fitted and the tracking done. It has also been garaged all the time we have owned it. This car has the Mitsubishi turbo engine which means it goes well and is also quite frugal. It has used no oil between services and been totally reliable. The roof is watertight, quiet and the mechanism free of faults. The air con works as it should and, being the Passion model, it has the benefit of heated seats. With the roof down and the side bars removed it is as close to open top motoring as you will get. Faults. There are two areas where the bodywork has been grazed - the offside rear wheel arch, and the offside front spoiler. The panels are plastic (so won't rust) so just need touching up - something I have not got round to doing. The stereo unit touch screen is faulty (apparently common with this unit). It still plays CDs and it is possible to get a handful of radio stations. Better quality replacement units are available from places like Halfords. The car is quite a head turner when we are out and about thanks to its bright interior and cute good looks. Insurance and road tax is low, so all in all it makes for economical motoring. The price reflects the fact that it comes complete with collapsible A frame for towing and a cycle rack which attaches to the tow-ball on the rear bumper (Smart cars are not plated for towing, so please do not use it to tow anything, not even a tiny trailer).
