The time has come to sell my very rare 525D M Sport Business Edition Touring which I bought last year from a friend who had owned it for 8 years. It has been 100% reliable, has 14 Service stamps in the book and is a pleasure to drive. A brilliant car whether you're trundling through country lanes or covering motorway journeys. I am going to be completely honest and transparent about some ongoing issues and based on that information I'll let you decide whether you wish to contact me or not. When it came to me I knew the sunroof had a fault meaning it still worked but had an issue closing again so I have taped over the button and left it alone. I had no intention of using it anyway but love the idea of having a panoramic roof which helps to brighten the black interior of the cabin. The other fault present is a DPF warning light that comes on after a few miles for 20 seconds before extinguishing again. Nothing happens and the car still drives perfectly normally so I had the DPF cleaned at a cost of £420. It then went to a local garage who replaced the throttle body housing, all 6 glow plugs plus additional relay and also fitted a new window regulator. That bill was £1026. I also had the back pressure sensor replaced. Unfortunately the light still comes on for every journey albeit I've covered several thousand trouble free miles since. I had agreed a sale recently to one of my neighbours but on the day of handover he discovered he'd been laid off ! I MOT'd it and added 2 new Michelin Pilot Sports to the rear costing £400 so these will be good for a few more years. Emissions were spot on despite the ongoing DPF issue so must clearly be working. The rear boot struts have become weak but I haven't replaced them as I only tend to use the top opening glass section. All in all I've invested ca £2500 during my ownership. There are various stone chips and marks as you would expect from a car with this mileage and the alloys have some curb rash. The interior is in fantastic condition and everything works including the air conditioning, heated seats, cruise control, Bluetooth etc. If you haven't been put off by my honest description then you're going to absolutely love this car just as I have and I'm confident it has many more miles left in it, especially given the M57 is renowned for covering many hundreds of thousands of miles. This also has the later gearbox with completely effortless gear changes. Serious buyers are very welcome but no time wasters please.
