Description
With the recent purchase of a smaller BMW (E36), I've decided that I'd like to reluctantly move on my BMW E39 5 Series.
The car was owned for first 23 years by an older gentleman called Frank who sadly passed away. He was driving the car up until he was well into his 90's and it was meticulously maintained and always kept garaged.
It is a 1999 Model (Pre LCI) in Konigsrot Red (Royal Red). I think it suits the car perfectly and is quite a rare colour it seems. Interior is light grey with a modern `Brushed steel' effect trim. There are no tears, it's in excellent condition.
It's a wonderful car which drives exactly as it should. It has the desirable manual gearbox (M Sport) and M Sport 3 Spoke Wheel. The engine is the later Dual VANOS M52B20TU which is wondefully smooth and quiet. Despite a rather modest 150BHP it feels really sporty and has plenty of power.
The A/C blows very cold and all the controls work as they should. Everything is original even down to the BMW torch, toolkit and First Aid Kit. The car has not been modified in any way and until this week was on its original dealer number plates! It has a comprehensive history (see pics) A BMW specialist worked on the car for many years. Spare Wheel and tyre seemingly unused. It has an original BMW boot protector floor matt to avoid marking the carpet.
The car has recently come back from the bodyshop to have a small section of bubbling on rear arch repaired and repainted and some minor dents removed. Updated wheel arch pics to follow.
The MOT is until March 2027.
I would prefer the car to go to a classic car or BMW enthusiast. I'd like to see it on the roads for many years to come as it really is a fantastic car. The BMW E39 5 series with straight 6 engines are often regarded as very `Peak BMW'. It's certainly the most complete car I've ever owned.
I regularly run OBDII diagnostics on this car and it always come back clear. Oils, filters etc are changed minimum once a year, regardless of mileage.
Well done on getting this far! Any questions, feel free to ask. I'm a BMW fan and will talk forever about these modern classics!
