Description
It's fair say I'm a Smart enthusiast!!
This is my 4th Roadster and my 11th Smart in total since 1998.
I bought her in January 26 with 19,500 miles on the clock from her 2nd owner - who'd taken her in PX against his wife's Porsche Boxter.
I was looking for a 'long termer' . She ticked most of my boxes .
SHE HAD :
GENUINE LOW MILEAGE
GREAT SERVICE HISTORY.
LEATHER. UPHOLSTERY
AIRCON
HEATED SEATS
GREAT COLOUR SCHEME ( DARK MET BLUE / SILVER TRIDION )
BODYWORK IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR A 21 YEAR OLD CAR
DROVE REALLY WELL -
WASN'T THE USUAL LEAKY BOAT ON WHEELS - EXCEPT FROM THE DOOR MIRRORS ( NOW REPLACED AND NO LONGER LEAKING )
WHAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE :
3 SPOKE STERRING WHEEL WITH PADDLE SHIFT ( DOES NOW )
3 SPOKE SPIKELINE ALLOY WHEELS WITH NEW TYRES ( DOES NOW )
BLUE TOOTH PHONE / MEDIA CONNECTIVITY ( DOES NOW )
UPGRADED HEADLIGHT BULBS ( DOES NOW )
WATERPROOF CAR COVER ( DOES NOW )
I took her to Rob of S2SMARTS and told him she was a ' keeper' and I wanted her to be the best driving Roadster out there . We discussed getting her RE-MAPPED but he , wisely , persuaded me it was unnecessary . Rob ( as per usual ) was right - she's plenty quick enough with 80 BHP .
And £2K+ later I've got an incredibly pretty and drivable ROADSTER .- CHECK OUT THE PICS .
So the question you'll all be dying ask me is' why am I selling '?
Well........ As you will have noticed the Roadsters are slightly lacking in the luggage carrying stakes - the front compartment is useable but rear one is only good for books and suchlike . Much to my 9 year grandson's chagrin it meant when we went away for a weekend there wasn't enough space for him AND our luggage .
So I took the plunge , and my 5th Roadster( and 12th Smart in total ) has arrived - but this time it's the (only) slightly more practical ' Coupe ' version.
She's just been fully valeted and machine polished.
If you can find a better driving low mileage Roadster I'd be surprised - and if you can I suggest you buy it:)
