'Lara' (LAR 326P) was built in Germany in 1971. She was a right-hand-drive car from the start, so possibly always destined for export to UK. On 10th June 1975 Lara was shipped from Ostend to Dover, import duties were paid and she went to live with a Mr Marszewski at Brentwood, Essex. 50 years later, in 2025, she celebrated a major bodywork restoration, including new front wings and floor, all elements fully sanded, filled, primed and resprayed. The interior was completely refurbished in a stylish cream that contrasts coolly with the black exterior. Her 1,200cc petrol engine has been fully overhauled, new wide tyres and hub caps fitted, and much else besides. Recent activities have included inspection and upgrades to the braking system, suspension and ball joints, ignition and wiring systems. Lara is a registered Historic Vehicle and, as such, is not required to pay Car Tax or take an MoT test. The car comes with a comprehensive history - mainly in the form of invoices dating back to the 1980s, and other documents that include her 1975 arrival in Dover. Lara is fun to drive and attracts admiration, smiles, waves and conversations wherever she goes.
