Very well-equipped 2013 Volvo XC60 D5 R-Design AWD Geartronic, with the excellent 2.4-litre five-cylinder turbo diesel producing 215bhp and 440Nm. This has been a brilliant family and long-distance car, which is exactly what I bought it for. It's extremely comfortable on the motorway, has loads of effortless torque, plenty of room for passengers and luggage, and the AWD system makes it a reassuring car all year round. It's a particularly high-spec example, with front and rear parking cameras, front and rear parking sensors, heated R-Design leather seats, electric driver's seat with 3-position memory, power tailgate, Active Bending Xenon headlights, satellite navigation, power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, privacy glass and cruise control. It also has Volvo's excellent Premium Sound Multimedia system, with 12 speakers and 650W amplification, plus Bluetooth audio, USB and AUX connectivity. The sound quality is genuinely excellent and makes it a particularly nice car for longer journeys. For family use, there's a large boot with power-operated tailgate, ISOFIX points, split-folding rear seats, plenty of rear passenger space and privacy glass. Despite its size, having cameras and parking sensors at both the front and rear makes it very easy to manoeuvre. It's smooth and characterful with plenty of low-down torque, and combined with the Geartronic automatic gearbox, comfortable R-Design interior and AWD, it's a superb motorway and family car. A very practical, comfortable and unusually well-equipped XC60 that's been properly maintained during my ownership. 83,000 miles.
