Description
A very attractive 1979 MGB GT in yellow, presented in excellent condition and benefiting from an extensive history file and a long list of restoration, improvement and maintenance work carried out over many years.
The car was originally restored in 1992, when the body was taken back to bare metal. At the same time, the engine was reconditioned and converted to run on unleaded fuel.
I purchased the car in February 2015 and have continued to maintain and improve it throughout my ownership.
Since 2015 the car has benefitted from:
New tyres and alloy wheels
New carburettors
New alternator
Full respray
New leather seats and door coverings
New carpets
New fuel tank
New fuel pump
New wooden steering wheel
New walnut fascia and door trims
Full service completed 1 September 2026
Full brake overhaul completed 1 September 2026
The car has covered approximately 112,000 miles and is a manual with the desirable overdrive gearbox.
The body is in very good condition and, importantly for an MGB, is rust free. The yellow paintwork presents very well, complemented by the black interior, walnut trim and wooden steering wheel. The photographs show the quality and condition of the interior particularly well.
The car comes with a substantial history file, providing useful documentation of its life and maintenance. I have owned it since February 2015 and have continued to spend money on the car rather than simply maintaining it to a minimum standard.
This is an MGB GT to be used and enjoyed, rather than a restoration project. It combines the character of a classic 1970s MGB with a number of sensible upgrades and improvements already carried out.
