Finished in White, this 2021 Kia Sportage ‘2’ has covered 63,000 miles, has just one former keeper which was a nurse which belonged to NHS Borders. The car combines a spacious cabin with a surprisingly strong level of standard equipment. Power comes from Kia’s 1.6 GDi petrol engine producing 130bhp, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. It is a straightforward petrol Sportage with none of the complication of a diesel or hybrid system, making it a particularly sensible choice for mixed everyday driving. Where this Sportage really stands out is the specification. Despite being called the ‘2’, this is far from a basic model. Up front there is an 8-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system with Kia Connected Services, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to bring your phone, music, maps and apps straight into the car. There is also Bluetooth music streaming, DAB radio and a six-speaker audio system. Parking is made easier with both a reversing camera and rear parking sensors, while electrically folding and heated door mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic lights and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror make everyday driving that little bit easier. Comfort is excellent too. You get dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel and gearlever, driver’s electric lumbar adjustment and, unusually for a car at this level, heated front seats AND heated outer rear seats. That is a particularly welcome feature on Highland winter mornings. For family use, the Sportage makes a lot of sense. There is plenty of rear-seat space, ISOFIX mounting points, rear ventilation ducts, a rear USB charging point and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. The boot offers approximately 491 litres of luggage capacity, expanding to around 1,480 litres with the rear seats folded, giving you proper SUV practicality for shopping, pushchairs, luggage or family holidays. The safety technology is another strong point. Lane Keep Assist can help keep the vehicle positioned within its lane, High Beam Assist automatically manages the headlights for approaching traffic, while Driver Attention Warning monitors driving behaviour for signs of tiredness or reduced concentration. There is also Speed Limit Information, Hill-Start Assist, Downhill Brake Control, Trailer Stability Assist and cruise control with speed limiter. Outside, the 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, roof rails, chrome detailing and LED daytime running lights give the Sportage a smart, modern SUV appearance without making it unnecessarily flashy. The MOT currently runs until March 2027 but a fresh MOT and service can be negotiated as part of our Club Culloden Package. It is also ULEZ compliant, and with just one former keeper this is a very appealing example of one of Kia’s most popular family SUVs. Heated front and rear seats. Reversing camera.
