2014 VW Golf R - Manual - 3 Owners - Full Service History - Completely Standard 38mpg average! Reluctant sale of my 2014 VW Golf R, which I have owned for the last 2 years. I am the 3rd owner from new. The car has a full and well-documented service history, with all maintenance and required work carried out throughout its life. It had a few services through VW before the previous owner used CB Auto Works, who carried out 7 services during his ownership of around 7 years. Before purchasing the car, I actually contacted CB Auto Works and spoke to the mechanic who knew the car and its history well. This gave me confidence that I was buying a genuine, well-maintained example. During my 2 years of ownership, I have had the car serviced 3 times, and it has recently had another service and MOT, so it has 11 months MOT remaining. The Haldex has also been serviced, along with all other routine maintenance. The car has been 100% reliable during my ownership and has been looked after properly. Importantly, the car has never been mapped or modified and remains completely standard/original. No remap, aftermarket performance modifications or engine modifications exactly as VW intended. Despite being a performance car, it is surprisingly economical when driven normally. The average MPG shown in the photographs is 38+ MPG over 90+ hours of driving, which gives an idea of how I use the car. Of course, when you want the performance, it certainly delivers! The rear wiper itself works perfectly. I have no idea why this was noted as the washer jet does appear to operate, but I wanted to be completely transparent about what is recorded on the MOT.
