There is a Engine System Service Required notification that comes on when you turn the car on (goes away when you press "confirm"), there are no warning lights on the dash, the car runs and drives as it should - I was advised by a Volvo specialist technician that it's a software glitch which seems to be causing this, and the issue does not affect the vehicle in any way, otherwise there would be an engine warning light that would come on.
