Description

2003 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Supercharged Coup finished in Radiance with cream hide, 31,912 miles and just one previous owner. This is an exceptional example of the X100-generation XKR and one we simply could not pass up. Although not the most obvious car to find amongst our usual stock at Roden Jones, its condition, history and originality immediately stood out. Cars of this age simply do not normally present like this. The car was acquired by its long-term keeper in 2003 and remained in their ownership for more than twenty years, during which time it was used sparingly and kept in dry storage. The result is remarkable. The bodywork presents beautifully and appears to retain the vast majority of its original paintwork, while the underside, suspension and running gear remain exceptionally clean and original. The car was undersealed many years ago and this, combined with its sheltered life, has preserved it superbly. Inside, the cream hide is equally impressive, remaining largely matt with very little wear to the seats, bolsters or controls. The walnut veneer across the dashboard is excellent and gives the cabin the sense of occasion these cars had when new. The factory split-rim BBS wheels have recently been refurbished and finish the car perfectly. Specification includes adaptive cruise control, factory satellite navigation, upgraded Alpine audio, Xenon headlights, larger Brembo brakes and Recaro sports seats. The adaptive cruise remains fully operational and was remarkably advanced technology in 2003. The original navigation system also still works, complete with its period mapping and digital clock display. The history file is another major feature, with servicing records dating back to the earliest years of the car together with the original sales invoice, old-style V5 new keeper supplement, historic MOT certificates, tax discs and supporting invoices. Following a period of limited use, the car underwent recommissioning in 2023 including four new Dunlop tyres. We have since carried out further light recommissioning in-house, including engine oil, brake fluid and a number of smaller items, with a Roden Jones invoice added to the history file. The result is a wonderfully preserved, low-mileage XKR that looks and drives exactly as such a car should. With its condition, ownership history, dry storage and outstanding documentation, we believe this must be one of the finest X100 XKRs currently available.
