Description
8 months MOT. Timing belt and pump done. Good service history. Well maintained.
Genuine private sale of our VW Jetta 2.0 TDI SE, which we've owned since May 2022. Only two owners from new and currently on 103,789 miles.
We bought the car at 77k miles from the previous owner, who mainly used it for longer family trips to France. We've used it in much the same way.
It has been extremely reliable throughout our ownership. It has never let us down or failed to start, and it still drives very well. We're only selling because we've now replaced it with an electric family car.
Maintenance/history:
- MOT until 23 June 2027
- Full service history to 76,959 miles, mostly with a VW independent specialist
- Serviced annually by me since then with Bosch filters and VW spec oil, most recently in June 2026 at 100,986 miles which included the fuel filter
- Timing belt and water pump replaced in 2023 at 82,537 miles
- Battery fitted in 2022
- Tyres replaced in 2023
- Transmission oil, coolant and brake fluid changed during my ownership
- Auxiliary coolant pump replaced
- Air conditioning regassed summer 2026
The interior is particularly tidy for its age, with no rips, stains or significant damage. It's a comfortable and surprisingly quiet car on a long journey, with cruise control, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers, electric windows and electric mirrors.
One of the best things about the Jetta is its combination of economy and range. On long motorway journeys we regularly see around 65-70 mpg with the family and luggage on board, and I've seen around 75 mpg when driving carefully on my own. The large boot is also brilliant for family holidays.
I want to be completely honest about the condition. This is a 16-year-old, 104k-mile car, so there are age-related marks, stone chips and some scrapes to the wing mirrors. The alloys have some kerbing/corrosion. The front bumper is slightly misaligned on close inspection and the boot shut lines aren't completely even. None of this has bothered us and overall it still presents as a tidy car for its age. The air conditioning works but can take around 20 minutes to get properly cold on a hot day.
Two keys included, along with genuine VW roof bars. I also have an older but functional roof box that the buyer is welcome to have if useful.
A comfortable, economical and dependable family car that has served us extremely well.
