Description

We bought this car a year ago to participate in a company charity rally through France with two other German roadsters, raising money for breast cancer research. 1000 miles over a weekend, ending with a track day. To ensure the car was able to make the trip, and looked the part, it spent eight months being worked on, including: 1. Full respray to Nardo Grey 2. De-chrome and replacement of grill with an RS grid 3. New clutch and flywheel 4. Cold air intake fitted 5. Quick shift gear linkage conversion 6. New auxiliary water pump 7. Wheels powder coated 8. New head unit radio/Android ApplePlay9. Seats renovated by a professional The car also had several routine, age-related items fixed: rear light connections, the driver's remote locking mechanism, the hood re-coloured, and the rear window fully re-seated and sealed. At some point a previous owner updated the headlights to Halogen bulbs. We serviced it in July: oil, all filters and fluids were topped up. The car comes with a long service history; from what we can see in the service book, the timing belt has been done at least three times. We treated the underside with a sealant, and both the underside and the suspension received a full Lanoguard treatment. Everything works on the car,and it's great fun to drive. The cold air intake means you hear all the whooshing and boost of the engine, and the quick shifter makes the gearbox feel like a mechanical, gated, one. It didn't put a foot wrong on the charity run, and was an absolute hoot to drive around the track. The engine pulls as you'd expect and it corners like nothing else I've driven. Sadly, with the rally finished, it's time to move onto the next project, So the car is up for sale. It's just been MOT'd, and flew through. Over the last year we've spent £3,000 on the car, but we realise we must be sensible about the selling price. It's great, very eyecatching road car or, with some further mods, the basis for a cracking little track car - stiffer roll bars, remap and different pads and it will be unstoppable.
