Description

Superb towing-vehicle for any twin-axle or large-type caravan. 7-seat (7 actual seats) in custom tan-leather upholstery - with the ability (at the pull of a small lever) to convert the centre rear-seat into a very comfortable child-seat, with ease. Huge load-area (greatly enhanced when all five rear-seats are folded-down). From experience, it is definitely able to provide sleeping space for two adults - and, very comfortable it has proven to be - on occasion. All-round, a wonderful, multi-person, luxury beast-of-a-workhorse. With only 106120 genuine miles covered in 18.5 years' of faultless service, a 5-cylinder/2400cc, powerful diesel engine, this vehicle is, just about, through its 'running-in' stage! It's now ready to start a new life of service. Owned by one person, from new, for its first 11+ years, the current owner has used it, very successfully, during the last seven years' as the tow-vehicle for caravanning - hence, only two owners, from new. Sadly, for various family reasons, caravanning has now come to an end. The caravan is visible in the rear of one of the photos. Therefore, with huge regret, and great reluctance, the magnificent Volvo has, finally, got to go. It was, only ever, bought as an extremely luxurious and effective tow-vehicle and, now, cannot be justified - there is a family car, besides, that is used daily. Because this vehicle has only averaged around 110 miles a week (or, less than 500 miles month) it remains in absolutely excellent mechanical condition. During 18.5 years' of service, it has, of course, picked-up a few tiny blemishes and the bonnet doesn't now have the deep lustre of the rest of the vehicle. The interior is in extremely good condition (as can be seen from the photos) and the custom tan-leather is in remarkable condition - as well as the custom walnut trimmings in the front compartment area. The driver's seat has some leather perishing on the very off-side seam - which is not unique in driver's seats of such vintage, on any vehicle. Overall, this vehicle is a perfect choice for anyone needing masses of luggage/load-space, the ability to carry 7 adults in luxury and a power-train fit to pull-down a brick-built 'ceramic department'. Utterly reliable, with faultless running, it has been regularly serviced, at the same workshop, during the past seven years. The name and contact number is available, in order for the prospective new owner to check upon the service record for the vehicle.
