1992 Mercedes-Benz 230CE Coup - Classic W124 - Metallic Green - 130,000 Miles A lovely, original and honest example of the classic Mercedes-Benz 230CE coup, finished in metallic green with a very attractive green velour interior. This is one of my personal collection of classic cars, which I'm gradually reducing for personal reasons. I'm not in any particular hurry to sell and would much rather see it go to someone who appreciates these wonderful old Mercedes. The best thing about this car is the way it drives. It's exceptionally smooth, comfortable and refined, with that lovely, solid, old-school Mercedes feel. It really does glide along and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The interior is particularly nice, with its original green velour upholstery, and the car has a great deal of character. When cleaned and polished, the metallic green paintwork looks fantastic. It's a real head-turner and regularly attracts admiring glances. I've maintained and serviced the car throughout my ownership and attended to what has been necessary to keep it running well. It has a full MOT, although there isn't a comprehensive service history folder. Being an honest, 34-year-old classic, there are a few things worth mentioning: * The bodywork is presentable, but some panels have been repainted over the years and the metallic green isn't a perfect match throughout. * One rear electric window doesn't operate. The other windows and electric sunroof work. * The heater fan works at its various speeds, but the temperature control remains on hot and will need attention. * The car comes with one key and an older immobiliser system that requires a small sensor to be touched against its reader before starting. It works, but takes a little getting used to. * The existing aftermarket stereo will be removed before sale. None of these issues detracts from how enjoyable the car is to drive, but I believe in describing a classic honestly so that prospective buyers know exactly what they're coming to see. This is not a concours restoration or a showroom-perfect example. It's a charming, largely original, usable classic Mercedes with a lovely interior, a wonderful driving character and tremendous presence.
