Having covered just under 60,000 miles, it's also just had a fresh 12-month MOT for additional peace of mind. During my ownership, the car has benefited from a replacement air conditioning compressor, new brake discs and pads, and new tyres. A little about its history and why I bought it. Firstly, I want to be completely upfront that this is a Category C insurance recorded vehicle. For anyone apprehensive about buying a categorised car, I completely understand, because I felt exactly the same. Following a major mechanical failure on my previous car, I unexpectedly found myself needing a replacement without the budget I'd normally have liked. As a business owner, I was looking for something comfortable, presentable and economical, but without compromising on performance or luxury. After countless hours searching, this BMW stood out as offering by far the best combination of luxury, performance, comfort and value for money. The insurance category was what made it affordable. It was the first categorised car I'd ever bought, and looking back, I'm absolutely delighted I did. I originally intended to keep it for just 12 months, but nearly two years later, I still have it. That's testament to just how much I've enjoyed owning it. The 640d really is a remarkable car. Effortlessly powerful, beautifully refined, surprisingly economical and a genuine pleasure to drive. So why am I selling? Quite simply, my son has taken up wakeboarding, and we've bought an MPV to accommodate all his equipment and make family outings easier. Otherwise, I'd happily continue enjoying the BMW. I appreciate that a categorised vehicle won't appeal to everyone, but for someone looking for an exceptional amount of car for their money, I genuinely believe this represents fantastic value.
