Description
2009 Volkswagen Golf Mk6 1.4 TSI S DSG Automatic - Black - 108,000 Miles
For sale is my 2009 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI DSG automatic, which I've owned for most of the last six years.
The car drives well, with no known engine or gearbox running issues and no dashboard warning lights. I've been using it regularly, including alongside my newer Golf GTI, which is the reason for selling.
Maintenance & Service History:
The car benefits from significant documented work carried out through Volkswagen main dealers:
- October 2021: DSG dual-clutch replaced by Volkswagen at 99,545 miles (£1,506).
- June 2025: DSG gearbox control unit rebuilt by Volkswagen at 105,919 miles. Brake fluid, washer reservoir and nearside outer CV boot also replaced.
- Nearly £3,000 in documented Volkswagen repairs and maintenance across these two visits.
- DSG gearbox has been working normally since the June 2025 repair.
- Original service booklet with 10 historical service/maintenance entries between 2010 and 2020, including multiple Volkswagen main dealer stamps.
- Part service history. No documented routine engine oil service since May 2020.
MOT:
Fresh MOT passed on 16 October 2026, valid until October 2027. Only two advisories relating to cracking/perishing on the front tyres.
Features:
- Upgraded touchscreen infotainment system.
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Reversing camera.
- DSG automatic gearbox.
- Five-door hatchback.
Condition & Known Faults:
Please note that this is a 17-year-old vehicle and is not in excellent cosmetic condition.
The bodywork has various scratches, scuffs, stone chips, dents and general marks.
There are noticeable scratches around the rear wheel arch and adjoining panel following a scrape against a wall. The front bumper corner has also been previously repaired following a parking incident, although the finish and alignment are not perfect.
Other known issues:
- Rear passenger-side electric window does not open.
- Bonnet release handle is broken. The bonnet can still be opened by pulling the exposed cable with pliers.
- Two front tyre advisories from the recent MOT.
All known issues have been reflected in the asking price. Please review the photographs carefully.
Overall:
An affordable automatic Golf that drives well and has benefited from significant documented Volkswagen gearbox repairs. Cosmetically imperfect, but suitable for someone looking for a reasonably priced, practical car rather than a showroom-condition example.
