Description
Welcome to the sale of my beautiful LPG Modeo. I have had this car for six years after buying it from the original owner. It has been owned by two engineers so has been looked after. I have all the reciepts from every time I have changed the oil or replaced anything. The car was parked for many years as the original owner was too old to use it much so it only had 16000 miles on it when I bought it in 2020. I put the BRC LPG system in and have run it on LPG since.
This is the perfect car to run on LPG, the 2.5 litre, 5 cylinder Volvo engine means it absolutely flies but it makes almost no impact on your wallet. It has a 60 litre tank and I usually put about 45 litres in for about thirty quid and it will do over 200 miles around the city or well over 300 miles before it needs filling up and if you do end up using the petrol tank it is not that inefficient. Speaking of which, it's a wonderfully comfortable car on the motorway. I bought it because I was driving from Birmingham to Southampton and back every week and this car just ate up the miles. I drive it on the motorway three times a week and it feels super comfortable.
The Ghia spec feels a little old man style with the walnut trim and it certainly isn't a Titanium but to be honest, I think it has aged better than a Titanium and I prefer it to all the chrome trim. It has everything you would need inside including bluetooth and a digital radio. There's no sat-nav but I use my phone for that anyway so I don't think you need that in a car this age.
The only thing that has gone wrong with this car since I bought it was the alarm system. The battery died because it had been left parked for so long and I think that might be why it was sold, but I replaced the alarm myself and have had no problems since. The error code for the alarm system has flashed up every time I have started the car but that is only because I replaced the alarm sounder myself and the code needs a dealership to be reset.
I don't think the car has ever failed an MOT, it's probably the most reliable car I have ever owned. I really don't want to sell it, the only reason I am doing so is because work is making me get a company car, I'm going to miss this one.
The exterior is pretty good considering the age of the car. The biggest problem is the aluminium corrosion on the wheels. This is a common problem and can be fixed by having the wheels done but I just haven't bothered. Believe it or not, James Bond drove one of these, best car he ever drove.
