Description

1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 Limited - RHD - 88,000 Miles For sale is my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 Limited, finished in red and powered by the legendary 4.0-litre straight-six petrol engine. I bought this Jeep because I've always loved the XJ and wanted a proper old-school 4x4 to enjoy and improve. Unfortunately, I've decided to let it go as i have had a change in circumstances. I need to make at 2 hr daily journey and need a more economical car. Recent Work & Included Parts Just had a major service, including a full 4x4 service, so the drivetrain has been properly serviced. Also included with the sale is a brand-new 2" Old Man Emu (OME) lift kit which I purchased for the Jeep but simply haven't got around to fitting. The lift kit is included in the sale and gives the new owner the perfect starting point for building a great-looking and capable XJ. Jeep Details - 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 Limited - 4.0-litre straight-six petrol - Automatic - RHD UK example - Approximately 88,000 miles - Red - Limited specification - 2" Old Man Emu lift kit included - unused - Major service just completed - 4x4/drivetrain service just completed - Recent alternator/battery replacement - recent cat back exhaust replacement - New IAC valve -tinted windows Bad bits The jeep runs great when its at full temp but just recently it is rough until about 95c (normal running is 100c) it only takes about 5 mins to get to full temp. Probably an easy fix As this isn't all the time just when cold morning. The underside has some age-related surface rust but no holes, and I had planned to have it professionally treated as part of the next stage of the build. I had plenty of plans for this Jeep, including fitting the OME lift, improving the stance and gradually building it into a really nice classic jeep xj. This is a 28-year-old vehicle, so it isn't perfect and does have age-related marks and imperfections. However, that's reflected in the price and it's a great opportunity to own one of the increasingly rare 4.0 XJ Cherokees. The 4.0 straight-six, automatic gearbox and proper 4x4 system make these increasingly desirable, and good original XJs are getting harder to find. Essex Viewing welcome and encouraged. Genuine enquiries only, please. I'm not interested in silly offers or trades. The unused £2" OME lift kit is included in the asking price.
