2014 Land Rover Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto - Santorini Black with Ivory Leather Quite simply, the best family car we've ever owned. Our much-loved Discovery HSE, finished in Santorini Black with ivory leather interior. Wonderfully comfortable, hugely practical and equally at home on a long motorway journey or a weekend away with everyone and everything aboard. This is arguably peak Land Rover, there is a growing view that well kept Disco4s could be increasingly collectible in their own right (like the original defender), the boxy shape, commanding driving position and a wonderful combination of luxury and proper go-anywhere ability. Smart enough for a special occasion, practical enough for muddy boots and family life, and comfortable enough to transport 7 across the country without anyone complaining. Incredibly practical with seven proper adult-sized seats, superb visibility and a huge load space when the rear seats are folded away. Even the split tailgate earns its keep as a perch for changing muddy boots or enjoying a picnic. Discoverys have even served as Top Gear camera cars a pleasing connection to adventure, even when your own expedition is simply a family weekend away. (Speaking of cameras, the surround camera system gives an excellent view when parking/manoeuvering). The HSE spec includes heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and rear entertainment with DVD player, headrest screens and headphones (all working). The smooth eight-speed automatic gearbox makes it an excellent family touring car. It has an extensive documented maintenance history, with much of its servicing and maintenance carried out by Kemsing Motor Company and more recent work by Northants Land Rover Specialists. Aside from the general service schedule adhered to, significant expenditure includes: Within the last six months: suspension arms and inlet manifold replaced by Northants Land Rover Specialists. July 25; main and auxiliary batteries replaced and programmed. Jan 25: coolant reservoir replaced, March 24, complete front propshaft replaced (common Disco4 issue), April 2022, front and rear timing belt kits replaced, with pulleys also renewed (again another common Disco4 issue) Whatever has been needed to maintain this car during our ownership has been done, with substantial expenditure on the things that matter. A fantastic combination of comfort, space, character and capability. It has been a brilliant part of family life and will be very much missed
