Description
I bought this Cat N car for my wife and kids having concluded that the history was perfectly reasonable. Cat N by the way is 'superficial damage' as opposed to Cat S which is 'structural damage' (and therefore you should never buy a Cat S).
The last two photos show the main damage to the front, and slight damage to the rear. I could not find the missing service history as there is no central Renault database, and it would have involved me ringing around 200+ dealers. I figured that anyone buying a new car would have had it serviced when the dash reminder popped up, as otherwise the 5 year warranty would have been invalidated.
It has a Renault service a year ago, including spark plugs, and one week ago a full service, including brake fluid change etc (see invoice). A new battery was also fitted.
The car come with 2 original Renault keyless entry cards (400 pounds to replace!) and is my wife's favourite gadget. She keeps the card in her bag, and as she approaches the car, it unlocks, and then locks again automatically as she leaves the car.
We fitted 4 Kumho tyres, and these have thousands of miles left in them. Tracking was also done at point of fitting.
The car has only ever run on Super Unleaded, not the standard stuff, and this top of the range model has a timing chain (not the notorious wetbelt) giving long term peace of mind.
The car has all the gadgets, the best of which are:
Digital dash
Apple Carplay / Android Auto
Auto lights and wipers
Rear view camera
Ice cold A/c
Parking sensors
Cruise control
Tyre pressure monitoring
Keyless entry
Stop/start (can be switched off)
Extra large LCD screen (only in top of range Clio)
And a dozen other features unique to the RS Line.
It has just had an MOT, and of course there were no advisories.
A year ago, a stone chipped the windscreen. My mechanic friend repaired it but made it slightly worse. The 1" crack is at the very bottom of the screen, in the middle where it is not noticeable. It appears that the glue that was injected has solved the crack, as in a year old driving Sussex roads, it has remained static.
There are no warning lights, no glitches, and no outstanding issues to this very economical and zippy Clio. It is easy to understand why it won What Car Best Small Car, 2024 and 2025.
Autotrader prices the car 35% higher given its age and low mileage. Because of the Cat N, it has been priced accordingly.
