Description
2010 Mazda RX-8 R3 - Reluctant Sale (Price Is Firm!)
Price is NOT negotiable. My wife has already won.
Let's get this out of the way: I don't want to sell this car. Unfortunately, my wife has decided our marriage is more important than my happiness, so my 2010 Mazda RX-8 R3 must go. I've tried every defence, including pointing out that it's an R3 and technically has four seats. No luck.
Apparently, fuel consumption, road tax, a manual gearbox, insufficient family space, warm-up times and my enthusiastic interpretation of "a red line a day" are all problems. I disagree, but the household management has spoken!
The Car
Genuine 2010 Mazda RX-8 R3
About 104,000 miles and still daily driven
Oil changes every 3,000 miles
No cold-start or hot-start issues
Compression test carried out in February 2024 during its last Master Reset service with Rotary Revs:
Front: 6.7 / 6.7 / 6.8
Rear: 6.9 / 6.9 / 6.7
Next major service (another reset) booked with Blackstar for mid-November
Remaining stock of oils and filters included in the sale
This isn't a garage ornament that's spent years gathering dust. It's a car that's driven, enjoyed and maintained.
Honest About Its Flaws
It's a 2010 car, not a museum piece. It has:
Wear on the driver's seat upholstery
Some age-related paintwork/body marks
Rust around the nearside front wheel arch
Broken plastic trim on the front passenger seat
Check photos showing the imperfections. No surprises, no pretending they're all "character".
The Price - Please Read!
The advertised price is the price. No offers, no haggling, no "what's your lowest, mate?"
I'm not desperate to sell. I'm being forced into a very reluctant surrender, and this is the price agreed to maintain domestic peace.
My wife has handled the negotiations. I'm merely the delivery driver.
Final Thoughts
A genuine, regularly maintained, daily-driven RX-8 R3 with documented compression figures, no starting issues and its next major service already booked as I still daily it.
Ideal for someone who understands rotary ownership, appreciates a car that loves revs, and doesn't consider fuel disappearing into smiles a financial crime.
If you're after an R3 that's still being driven and enjoyed, come and have a look.
Photos are showing the cars marks/dents/stone chips. not trying to hide defects.
And yes, it is wearing its Halloween costume on the photos.
Just don't ask whether I'm happy to sell it.
