Description
For sale is my MK4 VW Golf VR6 4motion.
I've had this car for nearly 2 years now and i'm the second owner. Have absolutely loved it, but sadly parting ways to get something a bit bigger for work which i don't have to worry about adding loads of miles onto.
This Golf is completely stock, it's been well looked after by me and has had lots of bits replaced on it. Has been serviced every 6000 miles by me since ownership with all receipts.
Had an advisory for an oil leak a couple years ago which I fixed my self by replacing the valve cover gasket. Has had a new alternator, battery, front control arms within the last year also. Also a pair of new tyres on the rear.
The car really doesn't have too many bad bits too it, the interior leather is in very good condition for its age with fairly minimal wear on the drivers seat. Outside, the paintwork over all is very tidy and shines up incredibly when clean. There are however quite a few small stone chips on the bonnet, wings have small patches of rust coming through on the bottoms, still currently on the inside lip so can easily be sanded back and touched up. There's also 2 rust patches on the roof guttering of the passenger side, another common spot for rust on these MK4s. It's last MOT has also brought up some corrosion on the suspension components as an advisory, something to look at for the next owner as I haven't had the time too.
Wheels are all perfect apart from the passenger front which has taken a bit of a chip, tyre holds air so alloy is fine otherwise.
Mechanically it's running perfectly and hasn't missed a beat in my ownership, starts every single time without fail. It has been smoke tested just a few weeks ago due to a strong petrol smell. Turned out to be the MAF sensor which has been replaced with a Bosch unit. Smoke test did reveal a few small leaks which have been taped for now due to difficulty in getting parts- these haven't been an issue for me though.
Electronically it does have a couple things, the electric adjusting mirrors seem to be completely dead. Believe this is a power issue to the control on the door, potentially a torn cable in the door.
Rear washer also doesn't seem to work.
This is a really honest car which i've taken good care of, and will really miss. These are only going up in value and getting rarer to find, especially one in such good condition with the miles it holds. Have had so many compliments on it.
