Description
1991 'H' Peugeot 205 1. 1 TU 5-speed manual, 12 months MOT, 98, 900 miles.
For sale my beloved Peugeot 205 GL 5-door, a nice example of this retro classic which certainly turns a few heads!
Work carried out in the last few months includes new: cam belt & water pump, alternator, major service, coolant flush & replace, exhaust back box, drive shafts, lower arms & track rod ends, front coil springs, 2 Kumho tyres & front wheel alignment.
18 stamps in the service book up to 2017 (76k miles), self-maintained by previous owners there after. Invoice for all recent works done is with the car, but not stamped in the book (can arrange the book to be stamped if preferred).
Things To Note:
- Offside rear door paint finish has failed, resulting in speckling as pictured.
- Nearside rear outer sill at the bottom of the door has surface corrosion (advisory on MOT). Garage suggest sand, rust treat and re-paint, has not rusted through the metal just surface.
- Roof has been painted in the past, and the blending down into the a & b panels isn't the best job. You only notice this when looking closely.
- Various marks/ dents around the bodywork, as expected for a 35yr old car.
- Rear bumper bolted on to the car, I suspect when the tow bar was fitted, and bowes slightly in the middle (I would be tempted to remove the tow bar and refit the bumper if I were keeping it).
- Previous owner had an after market radio fitted, Peugeot original radio is back in the car but not currently working, I suspect it's not been wired back in correctly.
I've been as honest as possible, a really nice example of this retro hatch and in a turn-key and drive away condition. MOT'd 11th Sept '26 with 2 advisories (surface rust as mentioned above + spare wheel tyre needs replacing), flew through on everything else!
£3, 000 no offers, if I don't sell before the winter I shall tuck it away until Spring.
Test drives and viewings very welcome, Hartley Wintney (Hampshire).
