Description

For sale: my trusty Astra workhorse - this car had an easy life. I bought this in 2021 with 130k motorway miles, corporate service history, 3 former owners, and have done mostly motorway miles up to 195k. It does 60 mpg consistently and drives well with no issues. I use this car for a 250 mile round trip weekly and lugging outdoor kit weekends. I bought an EV so the Astra can go to someone who can use it. Good: - reliable, economical, very clean inside, starts and drives perfectly, refined motorway cruiser, load lugger - towbar with electrics, used twice to tow a boat, never a caravan or anything heavy. - loads of service history showing this car had an easy life, and has been well maintained for the important stuff. - good battery , alternator and all electrics work fine, windows, mirrors, reversing sensor fitted, air-con + start-stop working fine. - Only one breakdown in 5 years: aux belt, tensioner + mount- replaced last year. - - Comes with new exhaust March '26 - All-season Vredestein tyres 7mm rear 4mm front - they need swapping back to front before winter. Socket for locking nuts included. - no sign of the clutch wearing out, bites well. Now for the bad: If you know cars and can live with these faults, the car is a really good workhorse. Note these don't affect the running of the car or how it drives: - Body damage - several large dings, dents, scrapes etc. All treated so the car won't rust. No rust anywhere and you get what you see. - Car shows "service vehicle soon" warning on startup and when free-wheeling downhill. Runs fine like this and you can clear the message with the stalk button. An iCarSoft OP-COM v3 diagnostic tool shows the exact Vauxhall fault codes causing this: - P2297 caused by either O2 sensor or the EGR valve needs cleaning. The car runs fine, passed several MOT emissions tests like this and still does 60 mpg on the motorway. - P0674 One glow plug needs replacing - starts fine in winter like this. - Radio - display damage obscures most of the display. All the buttons and functions work perfectly if you know what to press. I use AUX-IN, CD and DAB. - Both keys don't remote blip the central locking - one has damaged buttons. The central locking works fine using the keys in the door and from the buttons on the dash and door. - MOT advisories: light alignment, coil spring corrosion. I don't know know of any more problems but SOLD-AS-SEEN. Car lives near Darlington
