Description
Middlehurst Road Race & Classic present this 1 of 1 2005 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) NISMO Rally Car, which competed in the All-Japan Rally Championship in the 2WD class between 2003-05, driven by former WRC driver Hidemasa Miyoshi and WRC co-driver Akira Ichino.
This very special 'Z' made its debut, ran by the Nissan Rally Team, in the All-Japan Rally Championship in April 2003, around Nanayama Village, Higashimatsuyama District, Saga Prefecture of Japan in the '2 Wheel Drive Division'. The championship started in 1995, exclusively for two-wheel drive vehicles.
The car was originally painted from a white base car to the iconic Nissan rally colour scheme of red with a black bonnet, reminiscent of the works Fairlady that competed in the 1970's Safari Rally. On its debut it attracted a larger than usual crowd to the stage. In August 2003, it took its first victory at the 43rd Sonnet Rally on its third competitive outing, driven by Hidemasa Miyoshi and co-driven by Akira Ichino.
After retiring from competition, it was retained by Nissan and displayed as part of their Nissan Heritage Collection, before being acquired and kept as part of a private collection in Japan. We have subsequently purchased it and it is currently in transit to the UK, with an ETA of early 2027.
Now fully re-painted in white, this unique piece of Nissan/NISMO history would be a fantastic addition for any collection. It has a genuine NISMO S1 Omori Factory engine, with the NISMO carbon engine cover and build plaque, the original red Bride bucket seats, NISMO carbon fibre rally light pod and spot lights. (Full specification will be confirmed upon arrival to the UK).
One of the biggest selling points is that it was fully road-registered in Japan, which means that it will be road registered in the UK upon arrival, so it can be enjoyed on UK roads!
