Description

You are looking at my 1971 Triumph Spitfire 1500 mk4 with 34280 miles on the clock which I have owned for 12 years (purchased 2012). I have been using it as my main car ever since - it's a real head-turner and pleasure to drive, but a classic doesn't suit my lifestyle anymore. I have mostly used her on short local journeys (eg 60 mile round trip) & less in cold winter months. Rarely taken over 60mph. Currently engine being turned over every 2 weeks and in great working condition. Running very well & starts well, after a couple of tries . Car was manufactured in 1971 and has had 15 owners. Previous owner from me thoroughly restored from top to bottom and I have maintained it well. Car has been garaged by me for 12 years and was in a farm garage for 10 years before by the previous owner whilst they restored it. This is now an historic vehicle being over 40 years old so no mot or road tax to pay for. Serviced close to every year since 2012. This year (2024) I have had a new battery fitted. Last service was in autumn 2023 when I spent 1000. I had a new clutch fitted in 2020. In 2019 I had a whole new floor and new sills fitted. In 2017 I bought 2 new seats , covers and upholstery and had a new fitted carpet (documents provided).I bought a new soft top in 2012 - now a bit worn at the folds (see photos) and doesn't fit 2 of the fasteners.I fitted 2 chrome wing mirrors, which do wobble a little but hasn't bothered me. Engine runs well and is in good condition. Car is hand-painted in Kingfisher blue and bodywork is generally good for age. A little corrosion on bonnet edge & there is now a dent in the centre of the bonnet. I have touched up small rust spots by hand, but there is no serious rusting. I fitted an interior light. Indicators working, headlights working (+ dipping). Windscreen wipers working well. Both seat belts are working but the driver's side is missing the release button cap. The car has a lovely Motolite steering wheel.Chromework and wheel arches are in good condition. Quirks - doesn't like traffic Jams when she might stall. Does have a minor oil leak. All in all this Spitfire has been well looked after and now deserves a new loving home! Visits welcome in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Please call or message to arrange and do get in touch if you have any questions! I am running advert for my mum. Next MOT due 18/08/2018, Blue, 5+ owners, £3,500
