Description
Believed to be one of just six Mini Mokes customized by Austin Rover dealer Blandy Bros in Las Palmas, this rare Portuguese-built example comes with distinctive upgrades, including reinforced roll bars, upgraded seating, alloy wheels, and stylish faux wood trim.
Originally delivered new to Casa Dromedario in Lanzarote, this Moke later found itself at a German Schloss before being officially UK-registered in 2001! It comes complete with full weather gear and has a remarkably low recorded mileage of just 12,552km.
The Mini Moke was initially conceived by BMC as a lightweight scout vehicle for the British military, but due to its lack of ground clearance, it found its true calling as a fun, open-air runabout. A cult classic of the Swinging Sixties, the Moke became synonymous with sunny coastal destinations. Production began in Britain (1964-68) before shifting to Australia (1966-81) and later Portugal (1980-93), where it adopted Mini MK4 components, including disc brakes and 12-inch wheels.
This particular Moke, chassis TW7XKFP3285781701, is a standout with its unique customization. Still bearing the Casa Dromedario logo on its bonnet, it was modified with a high-profile rollover bar, custom interior, wood-style trim reminiscent of The Prisoner TV series, and stylish alloy wheels. After spending time at a German estate, it retains original signage in German, including "protect from cold" and "life vest under your seat."
Acquired by its current owner in 2001, this Moke was treated to a reconditioned 998cc A-Series engine in 2019. The odometer shows a highly credible (but unwarranted) 12,552km (~7,800 miles). The engine bay and wheel arches still display what appears to be the original factory wax coating, preserving its authentic 1980s character.
28th February 2025 saw a small service and MOT certificate passed, along with comments from the garage that it is in surprisingly good nick!
This charming Moke is accompanied by a V5C Registration Document, a history file, and a full set of weather equipment. A rare opportunity to own a distinctive and collectible version of one of the most iconic open-air vehicles ever made.
