Description
For sale is my Mazda MX5 Niseko that i purchased in december last year. The idea was to fix it up a little and use the car as a daily driver which i have been doing. I bought the car as a category S damaged car. I couldn't see the car get scrapped as it's still got some life left in it.
As you can see from the pictures the damage to the car is on the drivers side rear quarter panel. I have replaced the drivers side door which has tidied up the look of the car from the outside.
The went through an MOT a couple of months ago. There were a couple of issues such as a foggy headlight and a broken front drivers side spring. these have been resolved. There was an advisory for rear anti roll bar links. I have new front and rear parts ready to fit. I will do this if i get a chance.
When i bought the car i bought a load of service parts, nearly 400 pounds worth, thinking that the car would need it. It turns out the car was in very good condition mechanically. The servicing was done not long before i bought it, oil filter was relatively new, oil is in good condition, even the spark plugs are the correct type and in good condition. the tyres, discs, pads all have plenty of life left in them.
I have for the car the following parts
- Oil, oil filter
- front and rear anti roll bar links
- auxiliary belt
- water pump
- tensioners
- Genuine Mazda thermostat
- Genuine Mazda coolant x2 5L
- rear diff oil
- gearbox oil
probably a few more bits in the box. I checked the car over top to bottom as well as the garage that did the MOT. No issues at all.
The car drives very well, engine is smooth, gearbox is as it should be, no issues with the clutch. As you may know that engine and gearbox are Ford items. Fitted to lots of different cars and very reliable.
This would be the perfect foundation for a kit car. Something like an MEV Exocet and you could sell many of the remaining parts to cover the cost of the car.
The car is a pleasure to drive, the roof works as it should. It has been fitted with a Pioneer DAB radio, you can use bluetooth, plug in a cable, listen to the radio.
I have a few other cars so this has been a hobby more than anything else. The kids have enjoyed been driven around with the roof down. It sits on the motorway at decent speed with no issues. It drives around town quietly and quickly.
I would've have repaired the dent, if i was going to keep the car. Very rare special edition.
