Description
There are tidy Elises out there — and then there’s this one. Finished in rare and striking Autumn Gold, this 2006 Lotus Elise 111R has clearly been cherished from day one. Just two former keepers, full documented history, and the private plate S70 TVS - a playful nod to Lotus itself- included make this a truly special example.
Powered by the legendary Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine developed with Yamaha, it delivers 189 bhp through the slick C64 six-speed manual gearbox — no cambelt worries, no Rover fragility, just pure precision. The VVTL-i lift engages crisply at 6,200 rpm, giving that unmistakable surge and soundtrack.
Mechanically, it’s been maintained to an exceptional standard. In 2023, it received a full suspension refresh with new OEM Bilstein dampers and powder-coated components (£5,500 @ Unit 8). It also benefits from an alloy radiator upgrade and a Larini sports exhaust, a highly sought-after system costing thousands. Brakes are uprated with EliseParts two-part discs and Mintex fast road pads.
Cosmetically, it’s outstanding. The front clam was repainted by Option 1 Sportscars - one of the most respected names in Lotus paintwork , the Probax seats retrimmed, alloys refurbished, and the car ceramic coated after a two-stage polish. Details such as new badges, bulbs, bolts, wipers, air-con condenser and pipework have all been addressed. Even the calipers were stripped, refinished, and rebuilt.
Recent service includes oil, filters, plugs, and brake fluid, plus an auxiliary belt in 2017. MOT runs to July, with no advisories, two keys, and a complete service history from Lotus main dealers, Steve Williams Sportscars, and Unit 8.
Kept garaged and only used in dry weather, the bodywork is immaculate, the interior fresh, and it drives beautifully. The suspension, gearbox and engine all perform exactly as they should.
We can confidently say that if you’re after one of these cars, you will not find a better-cared-for example. The history speaks for itself, and we’ll be glad to show every invoice and detail upon viewing.
