TVR Chimaera 500HC - 42,000 Miles A genuine TVR Chimaera 500HC finished in metallic blue with Portland Grey leather and a blue mohair hood. Covering just 42,000 miles from new, this is one of only around 330 licensed Chimaera 500s remaining on UK roads, making it an increasingly rare and desirable example of TVR's legendary Rover V8 roadster. I've owned and enjoyed the car as intended, including touring, rather than keeping it hidden away in a garage. It has been maintained with reliability as the priority and has recently undergone an extensive winter refresh costing approximately 9,000 pounds, meaning it is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The car has MOT until May 2027 with no advisories. Mechanical Condition Rather than spending money on cosmetic modifications, the focus has been on making this a dependable, usable TVR that could comfortably tour the UK or Europe. The work has been carried out by Colin at TVRSSW, Wellington together with myself and includes: Engine oil and filter changed, gearbox and axle oil changed, brake fluid changed, full refurbishment of the electrics and fuses, fix sump oil leak, new otter switch (ensures reliable cooling fan operation) new thermostat then new coolant and the system pressure tested. New Serpentine belt, new engine mounts, drop links and mount refurbished, new anti-roll bar mounts, fuel tank removed and cleaned, new fuel gauge sender and fuel filter. Common problem is perished rubber fuel hoses which can be dangerous so all replaced where needed. Headlamp bulbs replaced and 100amp fuse replaced. Full service. As well as the above, new brake discs, pads and calliper's fitted all round, new Motaclan master cylinder and brake servo (common failure) steering rack refurbished by Killey Clinton with new track rod ends, new windscreen fitted by National Windscreens (600) and new wipers, new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder.
